In the help desk class, a couple friends and I got the chance to work on a 3D printing project. During this project we explored several different projects and printed some cool objects. We printed out 3D glasses, which didn't turn out exactly the way we expected it to. We also printed a 3D bike model which had a spring, frame, handle bars, and wheels that actually turn which allows the bike to actually become mobile. During the 3D printing project we also learned how to replace and change the filament that is used the 3D printer. Using this advanced technology we learned a lot about how the computer communicates with outside machines, for example the 3D printer. The computer sends the print job to the printer which then makes the printer heat up and start the job. Seeing the object on the computer screen is one thing but then actually seeing it person is a completely different experience. Overall using this 3D printer and actually having the opportunity to utilize it and see what its about was an amazing learning experience.
